Back in about 1979 I was a home health nurse. One of my patients was a tall, elderly man named Junious Herron. He told me that he had been a player on a Black team in Charlotte, and that he trained by running from Charlotte to Dixie every day. Any info on the team(s)?
Another patient was Maggie Dinkins, a long-retired teacher who lived on Billingsley Rd. Her father, born a slave, built the house first as a log cabin – she showed me the original logs that could be seen as part of a closet wall. That house and the church next door have been gone a few decades.

Mr. Johnson, I am not sure about any Negro League teams here in Charlotte, but I will find out. Thank you for your comments.
